ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan – The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed two flood-control projects to safeguard residents and agricultural lands in two barangays here from floods.
A 424-lineal meter project on the Alaminos River in Barangay Pogo manages floodwater flow and guards the community against flood damage.
A budget of P66,585,000 under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022 was allocated for the project.
Another flood mitigation structure was also completed on the Alaminos River in Barangay Poblacion, DPWH First District Engineering Office District Engineer Marieta B. Mendoza said.
The P67-million project was also funded by the GAA and is 392-linear meters long.
Ezperanza Tinaza, DPWH regional public information officer, said that the two projects included pile driving of sheet steel piles and construction of slope protection.
