The Navotas City government announced on Tuesday, Oct. 4, that 132 technical and vocational trainees graduated from Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute on Friday, Sept. 30.
Among the graduates, 13 finished and received national certification (NC) II for Automotive Servicing I; 11 for Electrical Installation and Maintenance; 11 for Hairdressing; 19 for Dressmaking; and 25 for Basic Korean Language and Culture; 39 for Bread and Pastry Production, and 14 for Food and Beverage Services.
Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco expressed his gratitude to the graduates for completing their training courses, encouraged them to work on their acquired skills and continue learning new ones.
“Change is inevitable. We have to constantly improve our competencies to stay ahead of the game,” Tianco said.
“The broader our knowledge, the more opportunities open up for us to advance in our chosen careers. The courses we offer in our training centers can equip you with the skills to help you succeed in a competitive job market,” he added.
The NAVOTAAS Institute is an institution accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
It offers various Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses under TESDA and Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
NAVOTAAS has four training centers open to trainees residing inside or outside the city, the local government said.
It added that trainees residing in the city can enroll in courses for free, while fees will be charged to non-residents for the enrollment and entrance exams, depending on the courses they will take.
