PaengPH: 18k families in Cavite evacuated, P50M worth of relief goods distributed
CAVITE – Around 18,000 families in the province were evacuated over the weekend due to the effects of "Paeng."
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Oct. 30, Gov. Jonvic Remulla said that Noveleta and Kawit were among the hardest-hit local government units in Cavite.

Some of the evacuees have returned to their homes as the weather improved, and at least P50 million worth of relief goods are being distributed.

During the onslaught of the severe tropical storm on Oct. 29, four river walls in Noveleta collapsed, bringing raging floods into residential areas, particularly Barangays San Antonio I, San Antonio II, San Juan I, and San Juan II.
Noveleta Mayor Dino Reyes-Chua had appealed to the Philippine Navy and the Philippine Coast Guard for help in rescue operations as some residents waited out the storm from their roof-tops.
