Muntinlupa mayor advises residents to be vigilant as TD 'Queenie' enters PH
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon advised residents to be vigilant as another weather disturbance entered the Philippines.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Oct. 31 that tropical depression “Queenie” has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

“At 5:00 AM today, the center of the Tropical Depression near Palau entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and was named #QueeniePH. Tropical Cyclone Bulletins will be issued beginning at 11:00 AM today,” PAGASA posted on its Facebook page.
The entry of “Queenie” came as tropical storm “Paeng” is still in the Philippine area of responsibility.
“Pumasok na sa Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) si #QueeniePH. Tututukan po natin yan para po sa nararapat na paghahanda (#QueeniePH has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility . We will focus on this for the appropriate preparedness),” Biazon said.
I encourage Muntinlupeños to be vigilant. Unlike before, information that will help us to prepare for a typhoon is already available to ordinary citizens).”
Biazon urged people to check the DOST-PAGASA Facebook page or its other social media accounts.
“Pag-aralan at unawain ang mga impormasyon kung paano nabubuo, kumikilos at epekto ng bagyo. Yung may kaalaman nakakaligtas sa kapahamakan (Study and understand information on how a typhoon forms, moves and affects. Those who have knowledge will survive disasters),” he said.
As of 8 p.m. of Oct. 30, there are 659 families or 2,945 individuals who are in evacuation centers in Muntinlupa, according to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management.
