Marcos hopes 'Undas' will bring healing among Filipinos
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed hope that the commemoration of Undas will help Filipinos heal and live with love as the country continues to recover from the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

Marcos said this as Filipinos observe All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day on November 1 and November 2.
In his message, the President said that the pandemic made people realize how fragile life is.
"The pandemic of recent years forced us to come to terms with our mortality. It taught us to number our days as we realize the uncertainty of our time on Earth," he said.
"It made us contemplate what it truly means to live a meaningful life and to die free of regrets and at peace with oneself," he added.

As the Philippines continues to recover from the pandemic, Marcos hoped that this year's Undas would allow Filipinos to heal.
"As we gain momentum toward complete recovery, I pray that our efforts to remember the saints and our late loved ones will bring healing to our hearts," the President said.
"May it likewise reinforce the foundations of our faith and compel us to live with genuine love and compassion in all of our days," he added.
Marcos noted that the Undas holidays are important to Filipinos because, as a Christian nation, they celebrate the lives of the heroes of the Christian faith and the memories of each person's dearly departed.
"Both remind us to strive, live Christ-centered lives, and fulfill our life's purpose until we meet our Creator," he said.
