K-pop girl group TWICE cancels Halloween fan meeting after Itaewon tragedy
K-pop girl group TWICE canceled their Halloween fan meeting in the aftermath of the Itaewon tragedy on Oct. 29, which killed 154 people.
JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency, made the announcement on Oct. 31.

Here is the statement:
“This is JYP Entertainment. We inform you that the TWICE 7th anniversary fanmeeting TWICE FANMEETING ONCE HALLOWEEN 3 has been cancelled.
“Both artists and executives are deeply saddened by the tragic accident on the 29th.
“Therefore, we are cancelling TWICE FANMEETING ONCE HALLOWEEN 3 previously scheduled on Saturday, November 5th.
“We have seriously considered changing the concept, but due to the time constraint and various aspects, we have decided to officially cancel the event. We ask for your kind understanding.
“Specific details regarding the refund process due to the cancellation will be announced through a separate notice.
“We send our deepest condolences to the victims and their families, and sincerely wish for a quick recovery.”
On the other hand, YG Entertainment, which manages artists including BLACKPINK, announced that “we have decided to temporarily postpone the promotion schedule and content release dates for our artists. We will further make a notice on the detailed schedules.”
“YG Entertainment would also like to send our deepest condolences to the victims, families and those affected by this tragic incident.”
