DPWH chief orders immediate repair of collapsed Bantillan Bridge

Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan on Monday, Oct. 31, ordered the immediate repair of the Bantillan Bridge between Sariaya, Quezon and San Juan, Batangas that collapsed during the onslaught of severe tropical storm “Paeng” last week.

Bonoan inspected national roads and bridges within Region 4-A or the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area affected by the tropical cyclone.

The DPWH chief was accompanied by Undersecretaries Roberto R. Bernardo and Carlos G. Mutuc.

They were briefed by DPWH Region 4-A Director Jovel G. Mendoza, Assistant Regional Director Isidro O. Encarnacion, and representatives of the Equipment Management Division, Maintenance Division, and Quezon 2nd District Engineering Office.
