CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police Regional Office 4-A director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Monday, Oct. 31, bared the accomplishments of the police for victims of tropical cyclone “Paeng” in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area.
Nartatez said as of 4 p.m. Monday, police have conducted 48 road clearing operations, 137 rescue operations involving 6,509 individuals, and 43 relief operations that benefited 5,153 persons in the region.
He said that police have provided security and assistance to 16,693 evacuees in 182 evacuation centers throughout the region.
Paeng killed 36 persons, injured four, and left five persons missing as of Monday.
Nartatez ordered provincial police directors, chiefs of police, and mobile force commanders to lead post disaster clean-up, relief, and rehabilitation operations in all provinces, cities, and municipalities in the region.
Ground commanders were ordered to ensure mobility of relief goods and convoys delivering basic necessities like essential food, water, and clothing to affected citizens in Calabarzon.
