US envoy visits Zamboaga City, reiterates Washington’s support vs terrorism


ZAMBOANGA CITY – United States Ambassador MaryKay Carlson was here on Friday, Oct. 28, and reiterated her government’s support to partner-nations against terrorism.

The US ambassador visited the Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command in Camp Basilio Navarro.

She was received by Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas, acting Western Mindanao Command chief, and top Wesmincom officers.

The military made a short presentation on the various successes under Westmincom’s security campaign plan.

Rojas attributed their accomplishments in meeting the challenges of a “complex security environment in the region” to a strong teamwork between the country and military.

Carlson reiterated the commitment of Washington to support allies and expressed appreciation to the troops for their sacrifices.

She visited the Western Mindanao Command as part of her series of engagements around the country.
