For Love Marie, the best aroma is that which reminds one of home or is tied to a pleasant memory—that of her childhood

Candles are instrumental in various traditions across many cultures. It’s a mainstay in homes, especially at the height of the pandemic when everyone was forced to stay indoors, and a luxury to treat oneself and others with—Its warm glow is known to relax and bring comfort.
Scented candles, in particular, are scientifically proven to have physiological effects on mood, working capacity, and overall mental health. Introducing notes and scents in our space may help us control our energy and lift our spirit.
Psychotherapists and cognitive behavioral therapists have found that the aroma of candles stimulates our limbic system, the part of the brain that is home to memory and emotions. Serotonin and dopamine are hormones produced when we process pleasant smells, which help regulate mood. Certain scents are therefore attractive to us because we associate memories with them.
“Wherever you go, you want the feeling of being home. Candles remind me of home and beautiful memories. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same,” says Heart Evangelista, whose new hobby is to enjoy and create her line of scented candles. “Plus, it’s the Christmas season and we all know that a candle also means light and hope.”

The artist likes any soothing scent. Her favorite, however, is vanilla. “ vanilla relaxes me. It reminds me a lot of my childhood, my teenage years, and the earlier seasons of my life.”
Heart reveals her latest creative trade as a candle-maker at her contract renewal with RLC Residences, marking her second chapter with the brand.
“It’s a fruitful partnership from the very start and it feels natural to keep collaborating with RLC Residences. I’m thrilled with what’s in store for me and RLC Residences—not only as their brand ambassador but also as one of their homeowners,” she explains.

A continuation of Heart’s collaborative project “Love Marie Designs with RLC Residences,” the fashion superstar has unveiled a unique scented candle set that she curated as a present to homeowners.
The aromatherapy candle kit, which comes in a pretty Indigo box embossed with a gold label, is composed of three scents namely, the RLC Residences fragrance, Holiday Sparkle, and the Love Marie candle she helped craft herself.

The RLC Residences fragrance is described as “a wisp that reminds you of the joy of coming home. A welcoming scent that uplifts, relaxes, and comforts your thoughts amid city life in all its vibrancy.”
Holiday Sparkle, on the other hand, is minty, woody, and crisp, created for the Yuletide season.

The Love Marie candle has balanced notes that were made to resemble Heart’s artistry and love of life—a fragrance that inspires raw and genuine emotions, mostly happy, vibrant, and passionate.
“I think it’s a good way to welcome home the new residents with these special candles and relay the feeling of hope after everything we’ve been through. And wherever you are, I think you will still feel at home with these candles. I hope they’ll love it as much as I do,” Heart muses.
During the contract renewal, the 37-year-old celebrity also teased a vlog documenting her candle design process that will be released on her channel by December. “Everybody loves candles. I’m obsessed with how they are made, what soy, or oil, or wax is used,” she says.
