The agricultural damage wrought by Typhoon "Paeng" has now reached P49.54 million, the Department of Agriculture (DA) bared on Sunday, Oct. 30, citing its continuing assessment.

In the agriculture department’s Bulletin No. 3, it reported that 1,949 hectares of agricultural areas have been affected by the onslaught of the typhoon.
The areas included in the latest estimate are MIMAROPA or Region IV-B, Bicol, and Western Visayas Region, it noted.
The DA said 762 farmers have been affected by the devastation of Paeng.
The production loss in the said areas is pegged at 2,543 metric tons, the agriculture department said.
According to the DA, the following assistance are available for distribution to affected farmers and fishers:
- Rice, corn and assorted vegetable seeds
- Drugs and biologics for livestock and poultry
- Fingerlings and assistance to affected fisherfolk from Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)
- Survival and Recovery (SURE) Loan Program from the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) with loanable amount of up to P25,000 payable in three years at zero interest
- Quick Response Fund (QRF) for the rehabilitation of affected areas
