Malacañang has denied that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is currently in Japan.

"Wala po siya sa Japan (He is not in Japan)," Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil told reporters on Sunday, Oct. 30.
This came amid speculations that the President is in Japan after he only virtually presided over the situation briefing on the onslaught of typhoon Paeng on Saturday.
Marcos, however, is expected to go to Japan for a state visit. It was revealed by Vice President Sara Duterte in September when she was in the foreign country to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Duterte then said Japan is already preparing for the state visit of the President.
Meanwhile, more than 930,000 Filipinos have been affected by typhoon Paeng while the number of fatalities has reached 48, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
