The Diocese of Kalookan is inviting the faithful to join in the praying of the Healing Rosary for the World on All Souls Day, Nove. 2 at 9 p.m.

“On the commemoration of all the faithful departed, we are once again called to reflect on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary, calling to mind our Christian hope of rising with Christ and inheriting the promise of eternal life,” the Diocese of Kalookan said in a Facebook post.

The 138th Healing Rosary for the World will be live from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalookan. It will be led by Rev. Fr. Paul Nicklaus Woo, director of the Diocesan Commission on Cultural Heritage of the Church.

The praying of the holy rosary will be held In front of the image of the Virgin Dolorosa and in the presence of the original image of San Pancracio de Kalookan.

Meanwhile, the Church encourages the faithful to hear mass on All Souls Day on Wednesday and to pray the Lord’s Prayer, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be repeatedly six times for the intentions of the Holy Father in order to receive a plenary indulgence for a soul in purgatory.

Also known as the Feast of All Souls and in some countries, the Day of the Dead or Memorial Day, “The souls of the faithful which at death have not been cleansed from venial sins or have not fully atoned for mortal sins and therefore, have not attained the beatific vision in heaven, may be helped to do so by praying, alms-giving, and by the holy sacrifice of the mass offered in their memory.” Church officials said.

All Souls’ Day was first established by St. Odilo, abbot of Cluny, France during the 11th century and began to be widely celebrated during the 13th century. It follows All Saints Day on Nov. 1 which is meant to honor all the saints, known and unknown, to inspire the faithful to live holy lives.
