K-pop boy band Pentagon cancels Busan concert appearance after Manila flight canceled due to 'Paeng'

The agency of K-pop boy band Pentagon announced that the group would be unable to perform at a concert in South Korea slated on Oct. 30 after getting stuck in Manila due to severe tropical storm “Paeng.”

In a notice released on Oct. 30, Cube Entertainment said due to flight cancellations, Pentagon would not make it to the 2022 BOF Busan One Asia Festival K-pop concert slated to be held in Busan, South Korea.

“We would like to inform you that Pentagon, which was scheduled to appear at the ‘2022 BOF Busan One Asia Festival K-POP Concert’ to be held on October 30 (SUN), will not be able to appear due to flight cancellations due to weather conditions in the Philippines,” the agency said.

Pentagon performed at Hallyuween, dubbed as the “Philippines’ 1st K-pop Halloween Party,” held on Oct. 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our fans and audiences due to the sudden change in schedule. On the day of the performance, the number of people on the fan club seat application list will be checked as scheduled, As informed in advance, fans who have completed identification will receive participation privileges, so please note. Once again, we ask for your understanding,” Cube Entertainment added.

The 2022 Busan One Asia Festival K-pop concert was to feature Pentagon, EXO’s Kai, Mamamoo, Kang Daniel, Yuju, (G)-IDLE, WEi, Purple Kiss, Brave Girls, AB6IX, Golden Child, Lightsum and Le Sserafim.

However, the concert was canceled in the wake of the deadly Itaewon Halloween celebration, which caused a stampede and resulted in the death of at least 153 people and injury of 82, Yonhap News reported on Oct. 30.

Hallyuween showcased Pentagon, CL, Epik High, BGYO, KARD, Gaho X Kave, DJ Soda, and Filipino drag queens Minty Fresh, Lady Gagita and Lady Morgana.
