DICT provides free Wi-Fi for evacuees following the onslaught of 'Paeng'

Through its Free Wi-Fi for All (FW4A) program, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is providing free internet access to evacuees affected by the onslaught of tropical cyclone Paeng.

The initiative was spearheaded by DICT IX and was established in Southcom National High School Evacuation Center, serving more than 40 evacuated families.

“As the lead agency of the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster, DICT IX ensures communication aid by providing internet connection ,” said DICT on Sunday, Oct. 30.

DICT’s FW4A program is a digital empowerment program that seeks to connect Filipinos nationwide by ending the so-called “digital divide.”

“The DICT IX FW4A Team has been deployed for pre-assessment of other evacuation centers,” it added.
