Cyclone east of northeastern Mindanao maintains strength, to enter PAR on Monday – PAGASA
Apart from tropical storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae), another tropical cyclone outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is being monitored by the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA, in its bulletin issued at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, said the tropical depression was last spotted 1,250 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
“This tropical depression is forecast to track southwestward in the next 24 hours before gradually accelerating westward over the Philippines. It may enter PAR ,” said the state weather bureau.
Once inside PAR, the tropical depression will be given the local name Queenie.
Based on PAGASA’s latest forecast track, the weather disturbance may remain a tropical depression until Tuesday, Nov. 1 and may eventually “weaken into a remnant low.”
