Cash aid distribution for 'Paeng' victims may start on Oct. 31 or Nov. 1—Tulfo
The distribution of cash assistance for tropical storm Paeng victims may start on Oct. 31 or Nov. 1, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo advised.

"Ibibigay po namin yan siguro bukas po ang start o sa isang bukas, unahin lang po muna namin 'yung feeding po doon sa mga kababayan natin na hindi pa po kumakain (We will start giving that maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, let us just give priority to feeding our countrymen who have not eaten yet)," Tulfo said in a press briefing on Sunday, Oct. 31.
The DSWD secretary also noted that the agency's Field Offices are working double time for the quick dispensement of food packs to the affected cities and provinces.
Relief operations in Maguindanao, Cotabato, Bicol Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region are also still ongoing, Tulfo added.

"Kung hindi na po kayo napapaldan po ng pagkain it will be this afternoon po, and pinakalatest na po is tomorrow morning and I hope you understand hindi po kami makapasok (If you have not received food packs yet then it will be this afternoon and the latest is tomorrow morning, I hope you understand that we could not enter (your areas)," he said.
"Kung hindi po kayo marating ng by land, nandyan naman po 'yung air assets ng Philippine Air Force, ng OCD Office of Civil Defence (If you cannot be reached by land, there are the air assets of the Philippine Air Force, the OCD Office of Civil Defense)," he added.
Tulfo also assured Paeng victims that "help is on its way" and all the government agencies are working closely together to bring immediate aid to people.
