LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The entire province of Albay was placed under a state of calamity due to severe tropical storm "Paeng" (international name ‘’Nalgae’’).

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) unanimously approved Resolution No. 0169-2022 authored by Board Member Dante Arandia placing Albay under a state of calamity to enable the provincial government to utilize local disaster risk reduction and management funds for relief and recovery programs.
Data submitted by the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) to the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD)-Bicol said 6,442 families or 26,090 individuals were directly affected by the onslaught of Paeng.
Evacuees decamped as early as Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29, as weather improved.
Partial cost of damage to agriculture in the province was pegged at P22,074,116.41 with 1,023 farmers affected.
