BACOLOD CITY – A satellite installer died while his companion was wounded in a shooting incident at the boundaries of Barangays Ilaya and Calampisawan in Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Killed was Elmer Cueva, 45, of Escalante City.
Major Lumyaen Lidawan, Calatrava police chief, said Cueva was riding a motorcycle driven by Jerald Bulanon, 35, also of Escalante City, on their way to their client when two unidentified men on a motorcycle tailed them.
Lidawan said the suspects shot the victims upon reaching the area.
Cueva might be the target of the shooting as he succumbed to bullet wounds, Lidawan said.
Bulanon, an electronics technician, managed to evade and only sustained a minor bullet wound in the hand. He has been discharged from the hospital.
Police are probing the motive behind the gun attack.
