Police seize P840,000 marijuana in QC

Police seized a total of P840,000 worth of alleged marijuana and collared two men during a buy-bust operation in Novaliches, Quezon City early Monday morning, Oct. 3.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Novaliches Station (PS 4) identified the arrested suspects as Salvador Belesario, alias “Boss,” 18, and Amador Grefal, alias “Nonoy,” 21, both from Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City.

With a tip from an informant, members of the PS 4 Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) launched the entrapment against the suspects on Salvador Avenue, Jordan Plains Subdivision, Brgy. Sta. Monica in Novaliches at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

The suspects were arrested after a police officer who posed as a buyer successfully bought P21,000 worth of marijuana from them.

Authorities confiscated more or less 7,000 grams of alleged marijuana, two black bags, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act oof 2002, police said.

“Through endless buy-bust operations like these, we will always labor hard to safeguard the integrity of Quezon City and the well-being of its citizenry from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs,” QCPD Director Nicolas Torre III said.
