GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – The police have recovered the cash and other items stolen from a group of Koreans staying in a subdivision in Barangay Javalera here.
The victims were robbed by unidentified suspects at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Initial investigation by the Gen. Trias City Police Station (CPS) says the suspects forcibly entered the house occupied by the five victims.
Lt. Col. Jose O. Naparato Jr. told the Manila Bulletin that one of the suspects held the spouse of the victims' helper at gunpoint using an airsoft gun.
The suspects carted away a bag containing valuables including cellphones and Korean Won equivalent to P48,000.
One of the victims tried to fight back but was injured on the shin by a shattered piece of mirror during the scuffle.
Upon receiving the report, authorities immediately conducted a follow-up operation and found the bag containing the airsoft gun and all the stolen items near the victims' residence.
The police are currently conducting a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.
