PH, US armies hold dialogue to improve logistics interoperability

The Philippine Army (PA) and United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) conducted a bilateral dialogue in Oahu, Hawaii to improve their logistics capability.

Col. Xerxes Trinidad, PA spokesperson, said that the second phase of the Logistics Subject Matter Expert Exchange (LOGSMEE) hosted by USARPAC's 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8TSC) was concluded last Sept. 30.

"The LOGSMEE, which is alternately hosted by the Philippines and the U.S., is aimed at enhancing interoperability of both armies in logistics operations," Trinidad said on Monday, Oct. 3.

"It also provides a platform for sharing best practices on logistics operations in support of combined arms operations and sustaining strong relations between PA and USARPAC logisticians," he added.

Military logistics is the discipline of planning and carrying out the movement, supply, and maintenance of military forces.

Col. Jonjie Juguilon, PA's Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, and Colonel Tracy Lanier, USARPAC's 8TSC Deputy Commander, spearheaded the four-day bilateral activity.

The activity was a follow up on the first phase of 2022 LOGSMEE in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City last July.
