The Quezon City local government started the forced evacuation of residents living in flood-prone barangays in the city on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The city government issued preemptive evacuation after the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (QCDRRMC) raised the "red alert" status of the storm warning in the city.
Members of the QCDRRMC are currently conducting house-to-house evacuation among families living in low-lying barangays in the city including Tatalon, Roxas, Doña Imelda, Bagong Silangan, Vista Real Subdivision, Barangay Batasan Hills, Masambong, Mariblo, Del Monte, Talayan, Sto. Domingo, Phil-Am, Payatas, Matandang Balara, Central, South Triangle, Sta. Monica, San Agustin, and Apolonio Samson.
The city government earlier issued suspensions of vaccination drives and QC bus operations after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG ASA) declared Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 in Metro Manila due to severe tropical storm "Paeng".
The city government called on the public to stay alert on the weather updates from QCDRRMC and PAG ASA.
