Phivolcs: 847 aftershocks recorded so far following magnitude 6.4 Abra quake
The number of aftershocks following the “very strong” magnitude 6.4 Abra quake has climbed to 847, state seismologists disclosed on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), in its latest count as of 1 p.m., revealed that they have already detected 847 aftershocks following the magnitude 6.4 quake that shook the provinces of northern Luzon on Tuesday evening, Oct. 25.
Out of the 847 recorded quakes, only 202 were plotted while 16 were felt.
Earlier, Phivolcs explained that plotted earthquakes were located by three or more stations. Recorded quakes, on the other hand, were detected by at least one station.
The quake’s epicenter was traced 5 kilometers northeast of Lagayan, Abra at a depth of 16 kilometers. Highest reported intensity was at Phivilocs Earthquake Intensity Scale VII or “destructive.”
