Severe tropical storm “Paeng” has killed one person and left four others missing in Zamboanga City on Friday, Oct. 28.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) said Paeng has affected 5,106 families and that 42 out of 96 barangays were severely affected by flood.
Barangay Ayala had the most number of affected families with 1,050.
Power outages were reported in several areas while other places were either not supplied or have low water pressure from the local water district due to high turbidity.
The Zamboanga city government cancelled a triathlon event scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 30, because of Paeng. The triathlon is one of the activities under the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival celebrated during the month of October.
