Three persons were arrested for transporting suspected marijuana valued at P24.4 million in Lubuagan, Kalinga on Friday, Oct. 28.
A report received by Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Police Regional Office-Cordillera director, from Col. Charles Domallig, Kalinga police chief, identified the suspects as Raechelle Kitongan Canao, 29; Augusto Binuloc Gunnawa, 38, and Arnel Langao Wadwad, 26, all residents of Tulgao East, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
Domallig said police received information from a concerned citizen that a van with license plates RDM-343 was transporting marijuana from Barangay Tulgao East, Tinglayan to Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Police intercepted the vehicle in a checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan, Barangay Dangoy.
Found were 204 dried marijuana bricks with a Standard Drug Price of P24,480,000, dried marijuana leaves in tubular form and stalks valued at P240,000, and two small bottles containing marijuana oil valued at P6,000.
Suspects are in the custody of the Lubuagan police and face drug-related charges.
