Las Piñas DRRMO conducts preemptive evacuation


The Las Piñas Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) conducted preemptive evacuation of families staying in flood-prone areas as tropical storm “Paeng” intensified on Saturday, Oct. 29.

According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, a total of 45 families consisting of 120 individuals staying in flood-prone areas were evacuated by the team of DRRMO.

Aguilar said the evacuees are now being attended by the City Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), giving them their needs like hot meals, clothes and blankets.

Aguilar said 180 residents were evacuated to Las Piñas Central Elementary School and were given relief goods.

She said the DRRMO and the CSWDO in coordination with the police and the Bureau of Fire Protection continue conducting rescue operations for families affected by “Paeng.”

As of 4:00 p.m., the DRRMO reported that Zapote junction was no longer passable to light vehicles,
