Senate Minority Leader Aquilino ‘’Koko’’ Pimentel III has pleaded for the quick delivery of assistance to residents of the tyohoon-hit Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
‘’I am deeply saddened by this tragedy that befell our country especially BARMM. My sympathy and prayers go to the thousands of families affected, especially to our brothers and sisters in BARMM,’’ Pimentel said in a statement on Saturday, Oct. 29.
‘’BARMM has not had experienced a flood of this magnitude until today. The people and the LGUs (local government units) were caught by surprise. It is our duty as their brothers and sisters to extend help during this most difficult time in their lives,’’ he added.
Typhoon ‘’Paeng’’ has killed at least 45 people, mostly from BARMM.
