Funding worth P4.1 million has been released to bankroll the emergency assistance for the families affected by Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng”.

Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) officer-in-charge Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil disclosed this on Saturday, Oct. 29, as the severe storm battered Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has been in “constant communication with different government agencies” to ensure “sufficient resource augmentation to support local government units (LGUs)” in the affected areas, she said.
“The President has instructed national government agencies to assist the BARMM in its relief and rescue operations,” she added, noting the recent flooding in Maguindanao.
Paeng made landfall past midnight in Camarines Sur as the typhoon is expected to bring heavy rains and winds to Metro Manila and neighboring provinces later today, Oct. 29.
