The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said MV Lite Ferry 1 hit shallow waters off Jagna Port while maneuvering to anchor due to the bad weather. Onboard the vessel were 23 crew members.

The PCG Station Eastern Bohol communicated with Captain Felix Diola, the ship's master, to monitor the status of the ship and its crew.

"The 23 crew members are in good condition and their ship is safe from further damages. They will wait for the highest tide for extraction," the PCG said Saturday, Oct. 29.

The PCG has suspended sea trips in areas affected by Paeng since Friday, including in Central Visayas (Region 7), to avoid sea mishaps.
