The Central Luzon office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed all its quick response personnel and resources in places hammered by Tropical Storm "Paeng."
DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said they already augmented their backhoes, dump trucks, and other equipment that can be utilized for quick response and clearing operations as early as Friday, Oct. 28.
Aside from sending its equipment, Tolentino said DPWH personnel from District Engineering Offices (DEOs) and Bureau of Maintenance Unit have been reactivated.
All 14 district engineering offices, according to him, were also instructed to review disaster preparedness plans and implement anti-disaster strategies at the earliest.
"I have already instructed all concerned personnel to take part in the quick response team. Another part of the preparation is to anticipate the influx of motorists and commuters who will travel to the provinces to commemorate All Saints' Day," said Tolentino.
He also disclosed that heavy equipment and manpower of the Aurora and Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Offices were deployed in the landslide-prone sections of the Nueva Ecija–Aurora Road while the two district engineering offices in Bataan also prepositioned their heavy construction equipment in strategic locations in their respective jurisdictions.
