
The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,391 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, Oct. 29.
New cases on Saturday brought the number of active cases nationwide to 21,176.
The National Capital Region logged the most cases in the past 14 days with 5,720, followed by Calabarzon with 3,368, Central Luzon with 1,954, Western Visayas with 1,716, and Davao region with 1,188.
The Philippines' cumulative tally of confirmed cases rose to 4,002,080, wherein 3,916,909 patients have recovered from this viral disease. However, 63,995 people did not survive.
Earlier, the Healthcare Professionals Alliance Against Covid-19 (HPAAC) urged the public to still wear face masks amid the move of the government to make it voluntary.
"Wearing masks is a simple, practical, and effective way to prevent transmission of Covid-19 and other diseases such as influenza, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and chronic respiratory diseases,” it said.
