Residents of certain barangays in Cardona, Rizal will only be allowed to visit the cemeteries and columbaries either on Nov. 1 or 2.
In his Executive Order No. 39-2022, Cardona Mayor Bernardo San Juan, Jr. enjoined the residents to follow the schedule of cemetery visit on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 to ensure the safety of the public against Covid-19.
Based on the local government’s order, residents of Barangays Sampad, Nagsulo, Patunhay, Del Remedio and Dalig are allowed to go to cemeteries on Nov. 1 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
From 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., those from Barangays Iglesia, Real, San Roque, Looc, and Calahan will have their turn to enter the cemeteries.
On Nov. 2, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., only residents of Barangays San Roque, Looc, Iglesia, Real, and Calahan will have another chance to go to cemeteries to visit the gravesites of their departed love ones.
From 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., it will be the turn of residents from Barangays Sampad, Nagsulo, Del Remedio, and Dalig to go to cemeteries and columbaries.
San Juan said residents of Talim Island villages should also follow a specific time and day of their visit to the cemeteries on the island.
Cardona municipal government also reminded the residents not to bring to the cemeteries their children who are five years old and below and those who have not been vaccinated.
Noise-creating devices, bladed instruments, and liquor are among the prohibited items in the cemeteries.
Members of the civil society organizations and volunteer groups who would like to assist the municipal government personnel in the peace keeping efforts during the observance of Undas are requested to coordinate their activities to the municipal hall.
The mayor’s executive order, however, did not indicate a restriction on visits to cemeteries on Oct. 28, 29, 30 and 31.
