Joint operatives from the Bureau of Customs-Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC NAIA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group NCR collared Rose Alex Moi, 59, after an x-ray examination on her baggage at NAIA Terminal 3 alerted airport authorities.
The foreigner brought in the baggage from Dubai via Emirates Airlines flight EK334. She arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 on Thursday night and her point of origin was Johannesburg, South Africa.
But during inspection, airport authorities detected illegal items concealed in her luggage, prompting them to conduct K9 sweeping and physical examination. It was eventually revealed that the luggage was containing shabu, according to BOC NAIA.

The BOC NAIA said that the passenger will be charged with violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drug Act and RA 10863 or the Customs Modernization And Tariff Act (CMTA).
In August this year, authorities also arrested a passenger from South Africa who attempted to bring in P144.3 million worth of shabu at NAIA.
The BOC NAIA said it would continue to protect the borders and coordinate with partner agencies to strengthen its anti-illegal drug campaign.
