At least 31 persons were reportedly killed in landslides in Maguindanao, while thousands were displaced by raging floodwaters in Visayas and other parts of Mindanao as ‘Paeng’ intensified into tropical storm Friday morning, Oct. 28, 2022.

And yet, “Paeng” still has to make landfall, and could hit Catanduan, Eastern or Northern Samar late Friday or early Saturday, according to the state weather agency.

Hundreds have also been reported to be stranded in several ports, even as land travel to and from the Bicol region has also been suspended.

The identity of the mastermind in the Percy Lapid killing could be disclosed to the public as early as next week, according to Justice Secretary Jesus “Boying”Remulla.
