DPWH-Reg 1 activates 'Lakbay-Alalay' to ensure safe travel during All Saints' Day
SAN FERNANDO CITY, LA Union -- The ‘Lakbay-Alalay’ Motorists Assistance Teams from the Regional and District Engineering Offices (DEO) was activated at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 to last until 12:00 noon of Nov. 2, 2022.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 1 said the ‘Lakbay-Alalay’ is meant to ensure safe travel for All Saints Day 2022.
This includes the installation of informative/regulatory warning signs or traffic device which are regularly carried out on pavements, bridges, road shoulders, drainages, regravelling, and vegetation control.

The Motorists Assistance Teams will also guarantee continuous traffic flow throughout the whole region, and that all national highways, particularly those going to both public and private cemeteries, will be maintained properly for safe travel.
In cooperation with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Local Government Unit representatives, the teams will be deployed on a round-the-clock shift to offer help in both routine and emergency situations.
The team from the Equipment Management Division of the Regional Office I will be stationed at Carlos P. Romulo Bridge at Barangay Wawa in Bayambang, Pangasinan.
Other teams from different areas will be positioned with the DEOs at Barangay Lingsat in San Fernando City, La Union, at Barangay Salasa Socony Section in Bugallon, and at Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan Road, Barangay Tuliao in Sta. Barbara.
For motorists traveling farther north, the DPWH Ilocos Norte First DEO team will be deployed at Barangay Tarrag and Pancian in Pagudpud, Barangay 43, Cavit in Laoag City, and at Barangay Bayog in Burgos, while the team of DPWH Ilocos Norte Second DEO will be ready to provide assistance at Barangay San Pablo in San Nicolas, Barangay Buncag in Dingras, and Barangay Sta. Cruz in Badoc, Ilocos Norte.
The DPWH Ilocos Sur First DEO team can be approached along Zone V in Bantay, Barangay Napo in Magsingal, and in front of the DPWH DEO at Barangay Zone IV in Bantay, while the team of the DPWH Ilocos Sur Second DEO is ready to help travelers at their designated post at Barangay Quinarayan in Narvacan, Barangay Calaoan-an in Candon City, Barangay Bitalag in Tagudin, and at Poblacion in Cervantes.
Meanwhile, the DPWH La Union First DEO team will be positioned at Barangay Camilo Osias in Balaoan, Barangay Ili Sur in San Juan, Barangay Pagdalagan Norte in San Fernando City, and at Barangay Lingsat in San Fernando City while the team of DPWH La Union Second DEO will be assigned at Barangay Gana in Caba, Barangay San Joaquin Sur in Agoo, and at Barangay Alipang in Rosario, La Union.
DPWH Pangasinan First DEO team will assist the motorists at Barangay Pandayan in Alaminos City, and at Poblacion in Bani Town Proper, while the team in DPWH Pangasinan Second DEO will also assist the motorist at Barangay Naguilayan Manat Section in Binmaley, and at Barangay Salasa Socony Section in Bugallon.
Likewise, the DPWH Pangasinan Third DEO team will be positioned along Mangaldan-Manaoag-Binalonan Road in Barangay Limmansangan, in front of the entrance/exit of TPLEX, Manila North Road in Barangay Bobonan Pozorrubio Section, Barangay Anonas in Urdaneta City and at Barangay East Carmen Section in Rosales, while the team of DPWH Pangasinan Fourth DEO will be deployed at Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan Road, Barangay Maningding in Sta. Barbara, Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan Road, Barangay Tuliao in Sta. Barbara, Urdaneta Junction-Dagupan Road, Calasiao Junction at Barangay San Miguel in Calasiao.
