NUEVA VIZCAYA -– Police authorities and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources seized P200,000 worth of undocumented finished furniture products from a 34-year old man in Calitlitan, Aritao on Thursday, Oct 27.
The Nueva Vizcaya Police arrested Marcelino Dizon Jr., a resident of Purok 4, Tikay, Malolos, Bulacan, for failing to present documents for the pieces of furniture he was transporting.
Personnel of DENR-Aritao checkpoint informed police that they successfully intercepted a closed L-300 aluminum van loaded with Knockdown and Semi-finished Narra, G-Melina and Mahogany furniture.
Personnel of Aritao Philippine National Police immediately responded that resulted in the arrest of Dizon Jr.
The responding police confiscated 630 pieces of assorted sizes of an estimated 669.583 board feet of lumber with a value amounting to P189,597.40.
The suspect failed to present any pertinent document as to the transport of the furniture products.
