The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion charges against 27 business taxpayers based in Metro Manila and Bulacan for alleged refusal to settle tax liabilities amounting to P1.4 billion.

Revenue Regional Directors Albino M. Galanza of Manila and Gerry O. Dumayas of Caloocan told BIR Commissioner Lilia Catris Guillermo separately that they recommended the filing of criminal cases against the respondents for repeatedly ignoring notices to settle the tax debts.
In separate complaints submitted to the Department of Justice, the Manila revenue director named the accused as Basic BNBI Solutions of Tondo, Extron Integrated Business of Sta. Ana, Eight Biz Asian of San Andres, Elence Marine and Industrial Corporation of Tondo, Firetouch Transport Siena, Hoa Construction and Maintenance Services of Pandacan, and Provident Tree Farms of Sta. Mesa.
Also included are the Stairways International Travel and Tours of Ermita, Asia Lucky Trade International Products of Ermita, and the lone single proprietor — Marvin Castillo Malabanan of Tondo.
Galanza said key officials of the concerned companies were also included in the charged sheets.
On the other hand, Dumayas identified the alleged delinquent taxpayers in the region as Agri Phil Corporation of Bulacan, KG Design and packaging Group of Valenzuela City, L.A.H. Construction of Bulacan, Leveflex Industrial of Valenzuela City, Marick Rickmark Corporation of Valenzuela City, Mijac Construction of Caloocan City, MS Machinery and Metal Fabricator of Caloocan City, Trendstop by Enterprises of Malabon City, and White Feather Corporation of Bulacan.
Dumayas identified the eight single proprietors included in the criminal complaints as Constacia Cruz of Guiguinto, Bulacan; Gerlie Ariola of Dagatdagatan, Caloocan; Jeffrey Dela Paz of Kasoy Road, Malabon; Jenny Saren of Bustos, Bulacan.
Jose Bernabe of Bulacan, Bulacan; Lota Reyes of Plaridel, Bulacan; Regalado Valerio of Plaridel, Bulacan and Shirley Go of Potrero, Malabon.
