SPD: Anti-drugs ops net 12 suspects

The Southern Police District (SPD) said 12 suspects were arrested in a series of anti-drugs operations in Las Piñas, Pasay, Taguig and Parañaque on Wednesday, Oct. 26, and Thursday.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft said members of the SPD-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a buy-bust operation in Las Piñas leading to the arrest of two drug suspects tagged as street level individuals (SLI).

The suspects identified as Arjay Bangalisan Cajefe alias “Payat”, 31, a painter, and Maricel Lara Fultura, 40, were arrested around 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Dumpsite, Barangay Pulanglupa Uno.

Confiscated from the duo were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 17 grams of shabu worth P115, 600, and the P500 buy-bust money.

The SPD chief said members of the Las Piñas Police Sub-Station 6 conducted “Oplan Galugad” around 9:30 p.m. on the same day on Lotus St. in TS Cruz Subdivision, Barangay Alamanza II. They arrested Daniel dela Torre, 37, a painter, for possession of 0.7 grams of shabu worth P11,560.

He said operatives of the Las Piñas Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested businessman Jewennson Manalo, 28, during a buy-bust at about 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, on Lansones St. at Golden Acres Subdivision, Barangay Talon Uno.

Confiscated from Manalo were five zip lock bags containing about 220.6 grams of marijuana worth P26,472.

In Pasay City, members of the SDEU nabbed Noelyn Padernal, 47, who is included in the drug watchlist; and Edgardo Lacap IV, 20, vendor, an SLI, during an entrapment operation at around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday on San Juan Street.

Confiscated from the two were 2.20 grams of shabu worth P14, 960 placed in eight transparent plastic sachets.

The SPD said at around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, Taguig Police Sub-Station 3 personnel cuffed suspects Hector Espinosa, 47, and Rodolfo Manganaan, 43, after they were caught in possession of 2.8 grams of shabu worth P19,040 at Block 5, Phase 2, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City.

In Parañaque City, SDEU operatives backed by members of Sub-Sation 5 conducted a buy-bust operation around 4:30 a.m. in Barangay San Antonio and arrested Paul James Apable, 37, a food delivery rider, and Jomar Flores Gonzales, 37, businessman, also on Thursday.

Confiscated from the duo were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with 4 grams of shabu valued at P27,200.00.

Kraft said the confiscated shabu and marijuana with a total value of P214,832 were brought to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

The arrested suspects were all charged with possession of illegal drugs.
