BACOLOD CITY – The Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) said 144 families composed of 719 individuals were affected by flood due to tropical storm “Paeng” in Negros Occidental on Wednesday night, Oct. 26.
The PSWD said as of 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, flooding was reported in Barangay 1 Poblacion, Moises Padilla town, Barangays Rizal, 1, 2, 5, and 6 in San Carlos City, Barangay Lemery in Calatrava town, and one barangay in Sipalay City.
Affected were two families composed of eight individuals in Moises Padilla, 102 families or 524 persons in San Carlos City, 20 families or 100 individuals in Calatrava, and 20 families or 87 individuals in Sipalay City.
No evacuees were recorded in evacuation centers in Moises Padilla, Calatrava, and Sipalay while three are staying in San Carlos City.
Seventeen families evacuated here on Wednesday due to flood have returned to their houses, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
