Cadaver found at NGCP tower blast site identified -- military

ILIGAN CITY – Brigadier General Rey Alemania, commander of the Philippine Army’s 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, revealed the identity of a cadaver found at the NGCP tower no. 8 which was bombed last Oct. 24 in Barangay Bagumbayan, Lanao del Norte.
"Identity ng cadaver sa blast site a certain Mocame Basher aka Abu Janah/Abu Turab," Alemania said in a text message.
He added that Basher's name is found in the database of Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group based in Lanao del Sur.
In his opinion, Kauswagan town Mayor Rommel Arnado said he is not troubled.
"Hindi Ako masyadong na worry doon sa alleged Dawlah Islamiyah dahil maaaring ginamit lang iyan ng mga tao na may claim sa NGCP," said Mayor Arnado.
The area where the bombed tower is located is just a walking distance from the community which is claiming the ROW (right of way) to the NGCP, explained Arnado.
He emphasized that he still wanted to verify the matters and a thorough investigation, thus calling Kauswaganon to be vigilant and report any untoward incident or suspicious personalities in their area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the NGCP's Baloi-Aurora 138-kiloVolt (kV) line, which services the entire Zamboanga peninsula, Misamis Occidental, and parts of Lanao del Norte, was successfully restored and energized by NGCP at 4:39 a.m. on Oct. 26th.
NGCP expedited the dismantling of the toppled Tower No. 8 and erected an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) to restore the affected line less than 36 hours after the incident.
The tower which was located in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, was believed to be bombed by lawless elements.
“It is NGCP's mandate to provide reliable power transmission services. We are committed to our mandate, and we will continue to deliver on this commitment, despite challenges posed by lawless elements,” NGCP stated.
“We laud the efforts and bravery of our line personnel who pursued immediate restoration without hesitation. We thank the local police and armed forces who secured the area and ensured the safety of our people,” added the company.
NGCP reiterated that any malicious activities that are intended to damage or cripple NGCP’s transmission lines and facilities may cause power interruptions which serve only to burden ordinary power consumers.
