‘Tremendous honor’: Herrera reacts to being named among most productive solons


House Deputy Minority Leader and Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Party-list Rep. Bernadette Herrera has expressed elation over being recognized as one of the most productive lawmakers of the 19th Congress.

“Being named as one of the most productive members of the 19th Congress is a tremendous honor, for which I feel very grateful,” Herrera said on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Herrera and her party-list were recognized for their prolific legislative endeavors early into the 19th Congress. Among party-list representatives, she was ranked 9th overall in terms of number of bills and resolutions authored from June 30 to Oct. 14.

She filed a total of 73 bills and resolutions within that period.

“I believe in the work I have done and continue to do for the constituents of BH Party-list and for our nation. I am committed to championing women and children’s rights, consumer protection, efficient internet and economic recovery,” she continued.

“Our constituents expect us to get things done for them—and that’s always been my focus. I’m honored and grateful to be recognized as one of the most productive House members and for pushing legislation and policies on issues impacting Filipinos,” Herrera said.

Prior to her current post in the House minority bloc, Herrera has served as deputy speaker, as chairperson of the House Committee on Women and Gender Equality, and vice chairperson of the Committee on Welfare of Children.
