The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently inaugurated a park in Las Piñas City as part of the agency’s “adopt-a-park” project.
Acting MMDA Chairman Carlo Dimayuga III joined Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar during the inauguration of Gatchalian Park and Multi-Purpose Hall in Barangay Manuyo II last Oct. 20
According to Aguilar the inauguration of the park is in line with MMDA’s “adopt-a-park” project which aims to develop under-utilized parks by improving their usability.
Aguilar said the MMDA’s project provides safe and clean areas for family events and wellness activity which are both important to the physical and mental health of the public.
She said the project, a brainchild of former MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos, develops open spaces in different local government units to uplift the lives of the youth and families in the community.
