For the past five months or so, viewers from all over the world have been engaged with the lives of Ali, Eloy, Lolo Sir, and other unforgettable characters in the Kapamilya series "2 Good 2 Be True."

The success of the serye in the age of K-dramas proves once again that the magic of the KathNiel loveteam of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is hard to beat.

The bad news is that there's no Season 2 for "2 Good 2 Be True" despite the clamor from a good number of fans for an extension. True that it has earned the coveted spot as the No. 1 TV show on Netflix Philippines, but one limiting factor is that they have only signed for 130 episodes, the show's star Kathryn remarked.

2G2BT is now approaching its last 10 episodes, as of this writing.

"Mahirap bitawan ang show but then, ayaw namin ipilit so please just watch the finale and you will see that it's enough na talaga," added Kathryn who delighted a lot of viewers with her portrayal of Ali, the devoted nurse to Lolo Sir (played by Ronaldo Valdez).

"It's hard to say goodbye, yes. But we feel we have already maxed out (all scenarios). It's better to end with a bang and on a happy note rather than make our audience feel like we are just stretching things out," the show's director Mae Cruz Alviar noted during the "2 Good 2 Be True" Finale Mediacon in ABS-CBN, Quezon City.

Kathniel were joined by the other cast members in the mediacon who all narrated their positive, enjoyable experiences while filming the series. These included Valdez (Lolo Hugo), Gelli De Belen (Margie), Cris Villanueva (Captain Rosales), Romnick Sarmenta (Fred Borja), Raul Montesa (Atty. Evangelista), Alyssa Muhlach ( Jill Agcaoili), Gillian Vicencio (Tox ), Bianca De Vera (Pat), Pamu Pamorada (Gemma), Via Antonio (Chubs), and Hyubs Azarcon (Tino).

Everyone agreed that they were able to come up with a good series because of the positive attitude of the cast members and the great bonding moments they formed during the lock-in taping.

What now for Kathniel?

Both Kathryn and Daniel said they are taking a break after 2G2BT ends, but the good news for fans is that there will be a new KathNiel when they reappear.

The pair dropped hints that they are willing to play roles that are out of the ordinary or even be independent of each other, if only to explore their potential as actors.

"KathNiel will always be there. We're happy to be blessed with fans who allowed us to grow individually and as a love team," Kathryn said in the vernacular. " But we don't wanna put ourselves in a box. We're getting older, and we want to offer our audience more roles that they haven't seen us portray."

"Am not limiting DJ to act only with me. In the next five years, I definitely want to see him portray characters that he only dreams about. If he wants to do a certain project even without me, it's okay. I won't feel bad. The same goes with me," Kathryn pointed out.

Daniel agreed with his girlfriend's sentiments. "Tama si Kathryn. Di kami dapat makahon masyado. Marami pa kami pwede gawin.Parang ulam lang yan. Nakakasawa pag paulit-ulit. We have to do something new."

The 27-year-old matinée idol expressed his desire to explore acting projects that will test his passion for the acting craft.

"Individually, we have to do grow as actors, gumawa ng projects na kinatatakutan namin, mga projects na di kami sigurado. Masarap yung pagsugal na hindi mo iniisip kung magkano ang kikitain ng pelikula, you just wanna do it because you like it , iba ang feeling na yun," Daniel pointed out.
