Police identified the suspects as Marijo Acuña, 37, businesswoman, and her live-in partner, Denmark Liscano, 26, residents of Barangay 3.

Lt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that Liscano had surrendered through “Oplan: Tokhang” in Victorias City while Acuña had treatment for illegal drug use.

Recovered from the suspects were 200 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.3 million, the P25,000 marked money, P1,200 cash, an improvised homemade shotgun, two 12-gauge shotgun ammunition, a blade cutter knife, and other non-illegal drug items.

Catalogo said the confiscated illegal drugs were sourced out here.

Acuna is reportedly related to a politician in Victorias City but police have yet to make a confirmation.

Suspects denied the allegations against them. The couple said they do not have an idea about the confiscated illegal drugs.

Acuña said that her pouch only contained a makeup kit while Liscano said that he only had P50 and a charger inside his bag.

The couple nabbed by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 and Victorias City Police Station will be charged for illegal drugs while Liscano has an additional case for illegal possession of firearm, according to Catalogo.
