Construction worker, painter arrested in Las Piñas shabu bust

Members of Las Piñas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested a construction worker and a painter during a buy-bust operation on Monday, Oct. 24.

Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, identified the suspects as Fidelino Santos alias “Pong”, 59, construction worker; and Bernardino Garcia, 60, painter.

Santos said the suspects were nabbed by SDEU operatives around 8:30 p.m. on Guadalupe St. in Fatima Subdivision, Barangay Zapote, Las Piñas City.

He said the SEDU launched the entrapment operation against the suspects after receiving information that they were the main source of shabu in the neighborhood.

The city police chief said the cops confiscated from the suspects four plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 32 grams with a street value of P217,600.

Santos said the recovered shabu was brought at the Southern Police Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

He said the suspects were charged for violation of the country’s anti-drugs law.
