Mylene Paat shines as Chery Tiggo turns back Choco Mucho

Chery Tiggo rode on another spectacular performance from Mylene Paat as it turned back Choco Mucho, 29-27, 18-25, 25-16, 25-20, to reclaim its old spot at the helm of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Paat overcame cramps in the fourth set and finished with a match-high 25 points to power the Crossovers to their fourth straight victory that also sent them back at first place.

“The most important thing in this game is we all showed courage,” said the 28-year-old Paat.

It was Paat who came through when the Crossovers rallied to edge the Flying Titans in the extended opening set as well as in the third when the former took it in dominating fashion.

And when Chery Tiggo needed her again after trailing by as much as three points early in the fourth frame, Paat responded to the call and came through with daggers after daggers.

Paat didn’t mind that she was battling cramps during that stretch but she stayed on for a bit before agreeing to rest her fatigued legs.

Good thing the Crossovers didn’t relent a bit in Paat’s absence as EJ Laure, Jelena Cvijovic, Cza Carandang and Dindin Manabat, back after missing the PVL Invitational due to an ankle injury, filled the void.

Paat returned late to help Chery Tiggo finished off Choco Mucho, which sputtered to 2-2.

Laure finished with 15 points, Cvijovic 10 and Carandang nine.

Manabat, for her part, chipped in six hits in limited action.
