Members of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii paid a courtesy call to the President in Malacañang on Monday, Oct. 24.

During the call, Marcos outlined his administration’s policies and programs to maintain the country’s growth momentum as it shifts to the post-pandemic era.

The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii is considered one of the biggest and oldest Filipino chambers in the United States, providing support to Filipino entrepreneurs in Hawaii.

It also provides regular networking meetings, valuable workshops, and outreach trade missions to the Philippines.

According to Malacañang, during the meeting, the President also reminisced about how his family owes so much to the Filipino community in Hawaii during their stay in the island state.

"I wouldn’t be here were if not for the compassion and kindness of our kababayans in Hawaii who gave us food and clothes when we arrived because we had nothing," Marcos said.

Then President Marcos Sr. and his family went on exile to Hawaii at the height of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
