The raw pork was intercepted at a wake in Sitio Panaosawon, Barangay Tuburan, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has earlier ordered the banning of all pigs and pork products from Panay and Guimaras islands, following a reported case of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the municipality of Oton in Iloilo.

Barangay Captain Ramonito Espacio Jr. was visiting the wake to deliver their funeral assistance, when they were offered by the family to grill the pork.

Espacio learned that the meat was hand-carried by a woman, who came to visit the wake of her relative in the town.

Espacio said they immediately burned the seized meat which came from Barangay Daan Banwa, Tapaz town, Capiz province.
