The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) recently contracted BC Net to provide broadband connectivity to 36 of its provincial branches.
BC Net, Inc., a telecom service provider organized in 2003, was licensed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to provide Value-Added Communication Services and voice/video over internet protocol (VoIP)-based solutions.
In 2018, BC Net was awarded a P453 million three-year contract to install WiFi connectivity in over 3,000 sites in 20 provinces under the Free WiFi program of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Now, the company will provide satellite internet services to improve DBP's connectivity in community areas, especially in remote locations and ensure access, especially during calamities.
BC Net will install lease line services (end to end data connectivity) via very small aperture terminal (VSAT) Ku band.
This project is in line with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), and Department of Science and Technology-Advanced Science and Technology Institute’s (DOST-ASTI)’s goal of financial inclusion in the country.
The DBP deal "takes us one step closer to fulfilling our goal of addressing the low internet penetration by supplying wireless connectivity to far-flung areas in the country,” according to BC Net chairman Dioceldo Sy.
The company serves retail users, corporate and call center customers or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) clients through the public Internet Protocol (IP).
Aside from DBP and DICT, its major partners include Ever Bilena Cosmetics Inc., which BC Net Chairman Sy founded, Avon, Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Figaro, Pru Life UK, JG Summit Petrochemicals Group, Universal Robina, among others.
